Seems like your theme (or plugin?) don’t support FontAwesome 5 with SVG. You can prevent Visual Portfolio to load FontAwesome with a single PHP code snippet. Read more: https://visualportfolio.co/documentation/developers/disable-enqueued-plugins-js-css/
Most probably you use non-english characters on your categories slugs. Example of categories that will work with our plugin filters:
The filter is working with AJAX to reload items. You can only improve the loading time by improving the answer time from your server. Try to use caching plugins (Autoptimize, WP Super Cache, etc…).
Visual Portfolio does nothing with single pages, they are loaded in default way as many otheres Custom Post Types. You can change it by creating template file in your theme folder:

You can reorder it using 3rd-party plugins, for example, these:
Sometimes you may see 404 error on single portfolio pages. You can fix this easily by flushing permalinks in Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks. Just hit “Save Changes” button.
It refreshes your permalinks and should help.
